i was doing urgoz today with allince and friends, and a guildy of mine opened a locked chest and got 3 elite tomes. i was like wow looked up on wiki and it said 2 will sometimes drop but will make it where one cant open it.
thought this was werid sence everyone opened. and it dropped 3 elite monk tomes.

has anyone else seen this??

Pics or didn't happen.

Could be that this bug also affects all the chests spawned and not just a particular one as we thought.

Sometimes I think the worst part about things like that is watching it happen and wishing so hard it had been you!

That's crazy though... I didn't think 3 would ever come out of one chest.

I've had that happen once somewhere in Maguuma Jungle (fairly certain is was The Falls). A chest dropped 2 elite war tomes for me, and guildie with us, the person who would have been the last to open, couldn't open it. I think it wouldn't even let him click on the chest, it just looked open and wasn't selectable.

About a year ago, I got a double black dye drop in Nahpui Quarter mission, which by itself was pretty amazing. But later in the mission, another party member got a single black dye drop.

my theory would be that when you zone into any explorable each chest generates its look in a backpack, one item per player and then drops the items when opened. If it were to generate tomes of the same type, they would stack and thereby drop at the same time, but empty earlier.

I thought this was a well known bug, that chests will sometimes spawn other players drops in the one open if they are tomes. I could be wrong though, but I remember hearing about something like this.

I got double golds from one mob, and a black dye from the next doing Dunes of Despair with guildies yesterday. But 3 elite tomes is pretty freaking elite.

I've thought the same thing myself. Like how after an update that adds a new skin, people will say they got a file update/decompress when loading a zone/dungeon level, and then a chest in that area will drop a new skin for someone. It makes it seem like the items in the chest are determined as soon as the area loads.

I had a fantastic drop the other day. Some crafting materials, a white weapon, an Elite Monk tome, a Gold Scroll, and something else gold rarity.

Pretty sweet seeing three gold things from one kill.

I had 2 elite monk tomes drop for me from 1 chest in The Deep. I didn't take screenshot as i heard that other people also had more then 1 tome drop from a locked chest, so i thought it was a known bug.

Pretty lucky ive had a double green drop before... im pretty certain it was Bazgr... something like that it was a monk prot item. Off a boss where Kurzick HFFF is ran.

Also i dnt belive more than 1 elite tome is a bug.... wiki says it happens without mentioning that it is a bug. ive seen 2 elite necro tomes from a chest in Sanctum Cay.

that 2 tomes drop aint bug, but that after someone got it, other ppl cant open the chest is a bug.

2 guildies and I were running Lyss. The first guildie opened the chest and got 3 elite ele tomes. When I and the other guy opened, we got nothing!
